Big Chief Beef Jerky
Though this project was long ago and we produced it under contract to the client's agency of record, it enabled us to utilize our design and marketing to great effect for the client.
The challenge
Alberta Fancy Sausage did not have a web site for its Big Chief
Beef Jerky product. As a processor and wholesaler, there was little venturing
beyond traditional sales and marketing channels aimed at the consumer and little
opportunity for customers (individual, wholesale or retail) to buy or find out
more about the beef jerky product.
The result
We began by interviewing the client on several occassions, conducting extensive online research and producing an audit of the marketplace. This document outlined the e-business path for Big Chief Beef Jerky.
The graphic design ensured the powerful branding and marketing of the existing logo and packaging of Big Chief Beef Jerky were supported throughout the interface. Information design requirements meant creating a navigation structure, and then tailoring and integrating content, to meet business objectives and user needs.
Though our mandate specifically applied to the web, we saw a marketing opportunity for the client that was outside of our mandate they should be made aware of, that being, they associate themselves with professional athletic events at the Calgary Saddledome, in order to harvest the market potential of their demographic: 18-40 year old sporting enthusiasts.
